California library spaces enhanced by natural light

| OKALUX | Reference

For the Library Learning Crossroads Building on the campus of Pierce College in Woodland Hills, Paul Murdoch architects designed a geometrically shaped building inspired by the authentic agricultural architecture of the original California missions.

In the details, they played with curves and a fine articulation through our OKAWOOD with wood grid inlay. In addition to its aesthetic function, the filigree wood grid in the space between the panes provides directionally selective sun and glare protection. Warmly tinted daylight continues to enter the interior through the rod interstices. Our OKATHERM and OKALUX+ additionally ensure optimized building energy efficiency. The project’s numerous sustainable features even earned a LEED Platinum designation.
