In order to provide the athletes with daylight and an outstanding view, LA architects chose the light-diffusing insulating glass OKALUX EVO for the facade.
A capillary plate installed in the space between the panes ensures uniform and shadow-free illumination of the interior. The OKALUX EVO glass façade not only provides solar and glare protection, but also has a positive effect on thermal insulation. Glass-fiber tiles between the capillary panels make the capillary structure visible on both sides, thus creating an attractive, lively surface. The external appearance of the building is significantly influenced by this.
Rated as "Excellent" by BREEAM the Winchester Sports and Leisure Park is considered one of the most environmentally friendly leisure centers in the UK.
