Filling Newport Street Gallery with light

| OKALUX | Reference

For his private collection, artist Damien Hirst comissioned the architects Caruso St John with a public gallery in Vauxhall.

The result is known as the Newport Street Gallery in London. It includes three restored Victorian-era industrial buildings elegantly enclosed and complemented by two new ones.

Light-filled gallery spaces on the inside are guaranteed by our light-diffusing insulating glass OKALUX K. The capillary plate installed in the space between the panes ensures uniform and shadow-free illumination with daylight deep into the room and puts the works of art in the right light.

The Newport Gallery was nominated for the EU Mies Award and awarded the RIBA Stirling Prize for the best building in the UK.
