Bridging past and present

| OKALUX | Reference

Founded by the Vikings, the Irish town of Drogheda has many remarkable landmarks. In this historic context, an important architectural task is to preserve the old while adding the new.

BDP (Building Design Partnership Ltd) Architects have achieved this remarkably well by designing a modern link building that connects two heritage buildings: the Drogheda Civic Offices. For this project, our OKATECH glass with copper inserts was chosen and expertly installed by William Cox.

The expanded copper mesh provides effective solar shading while maintaining the aesthetics of the surrounding architecture. With a TSET as low as 13%, OKATECH ensures optimum energy efficiency, reducing cooling loads in summer and allowing passive heating in winter.
