Efficient solar reflection

At the Research Centre for Systems Biology at Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, a trapezoidal plot leads to a special floor plan and a structure characterised by curves, peaks and straight lines.

In order to be able to realise this special cubature with a brick façade, Wienerberger produced bricks in a special format, giving the building envelope a calm, durable character. To ensure optimum working conditions for research, the building is equipped with OKASOLAR F O/U: The louvre type OKASOLAR F U reflects a large proportion of the solar radiation outwards, while OKASOLAR F O has a retroreflective effect and directs the incident daylight deep into the interior. This combination precisely fulfils the internal requirements and significantly reduces the costs for artificial lightning.
