On your own at the highest altitudes

| Glas Trösch | Reference

Above Zermatt – at an altitude of 2,883 metres – thrones the New Monte Rosa Hut, which was designed by ETH Studio Monte Rosa / Bearth & Deplazes Architekten AG, Chur/Zurich (Valentin Bearth, Andrea Deplazes, Daniel Ladner) in order to test exemplary new technologies with regard to the design, calculation and production of buildings under extreme conditions in the high mountains.

Environmentally friendly and autonomous energy and building technology plays a particularly important role here.

Based on the exposed location and the extreme climatic conditions, increased protection from strong solar radiation as well as from particularly low outside temperatures was required for the glazing. The intelligent glass façade therefore consists of the triple insulating glass SILVERSTAR COMBI Neutral 61/32 and SILVERSTAR SELEKT, which optimally combine high light transmission with solar control and thermal insulation for these climatic requirements.

  • Building Type Hotel / Gastronomy Building
  • Application Façade
  • Product SILVERSTAR COMBI (Low-E with solar control)
  • Location Zermatt, Switzerland
