OKATECH: Wire mesh inlets complements extraordinary wickerwork

| OKALUX | Reference

Since the renovation by architects kaestle ocker roeder, a kind of canopy made of wickerwork has adorned the curved ceiling of the funeral hall at Aalen Forest Cemetery.

The renovation of the building, designed by Karl Gonser in 1954, included the preservation of the existing structure as well as some adjustments such as renewal of the ceiling and glazed areas. The result is an energy-optimized, modernized architecture with new, friendly lighting.

The metal mesh inserts in the OKATECH insulating glass quote the structure of the wickerwork and meet the high requirements for sun and glare protection without blocking the view of the green outdoor space. From the outside, the insulating glass with metal mesh inlay gives the glasses a shimmering sheen and protects the mourners from the gaze of strangers.
