What is special about this is that the panels are not only installed on the roof, but also on the façade, which gives the formerly rather dull building a futuristic look. It now manages entirely without fossil fuels and generates a considerable amount of electricity: with a surplus of electricity that reaches an impressive 7700 kilowatt hours even in the winter months, it supplies more energy than it needs itself. The Solar Agentur Schweiz presented the coveted Norman Foster Solar Award for this project. We supplied SILVERSTAR TRIII E for the conversion of this impressive building. This particularly high-performance thermal insulation glass is ideal for sustainably designed buildings. The g-value optimization results in solar heat gains that have the practical effect of free heating for the user.
