Around 5,000 residents, known as Tellians, now live in the sprawling complex, which is often referred to as a city within a city. In addition to the park-like green spaces, Telli has a variety of facilities such as medical centers, shopping facilities, daycare centers, toddler groups, neighborhood initiatives and meeting places.
The housing estate, designed by architects Marti and Kast in 1969, has breathed new life into a once neglected district. In the sixtieth year of its existence, the west façade was renovated to improve energy efficiency under the direction of Meili, Peter & Partner Architekten AG.
The west balconies were enlarged to create more light and additional space and fitted with front glazing made from our SILVERSTAR EN2plus triple insulating glass - a glass solution that ensures optimum insulation with a remarkably low Ug value.
