When Old Meets New

| OKALUX | Reference

A striking installation at the Global Centre for Pluralism in Ottawa, Ontario, juxtaposes the old with the new.

Once used as the Canadian War Museum it is now dedicated to advancing respect for diversity worldwide – through research, education and dialogue. The redevelopment by KPMB architects combines timeless design with historical heritage.

A large framed element of OKATECH Copper glass, referred to as “The Beacon”, serves as an eye-catching design element that visually connects the Centre to the Ottawa River. The integrated expanded metal mesh inlay provides exterior daytime privacy and excellent interior viewing while minimizing glare and heat gain.
