Swimming in reflections

| OKALUX | Reference

For the renovation of the swimming pool in Fresnes, built in 1967, the architects Atelier 208 (now operating under the name Z Architecture) decorated the glass façade with elements made of OKATECH Wire mesh Mandarin.

The metal mesh inlay provides a special shine to the façade. The glass elements used create rhythmic reflections on the water surface and a calming atmosphere in the interior.

The metal meshes in different material types and thicknesses not only act as an attractive design element, but at the same time also fulfil high solar and glare protection requirements. During the day, they give building envelopes a special shine and allow façades to shimmer metallically in the sunlight – at night, when artificial light is used, they offer a matching combination of visual protection (privacy) and partial transparency (connection to the outside space).
