Star-shaped learning hub

| OKALUX | Reference

The Grace Hopper Comprehensive School in Teltow is more than just a building – it’s a spatial embodiment of the school’s forward-thinking pedagogical concept. Designed with a star-shaped structure, the central hub serves as a vibrant communication center for students and staff.

From this central point, five distinct wings radiate outward, each forming its own cluster with classrooms, breakout rooms and a central forum. This layout transforms a large school into manageable, interconnected spaces, fostering collaboration and community.

Numrich Albrecht Klumpp Architects incorporated OKALUX K into the forward thinking design. The light-diffusing insulating glass enhances natural light distribution, providing even, shadow-free daylight illumination deep into the room. It offers excellent sun and glare protection and improved thermal insulation, contributing to a comfortable and sustainable learning environment.
