Insights into malt production

| Glas Trösch | Reference

The malthouse Schweizer Mälzerei in Möriken-Wildegg, Switzerland, has made regional value creation its program.

With the first Swiss malting plant, it is now possible to process the country's barley, enabling local breweries to source their malt regionally. The demand for regionality also played a role for the design of the production facility by Atelier Barras. While solar energy covers the company's own electricity production and the wood on the façade comes from a forest seven kilometers away.

Our double insulating glass SILVERSTAR EN2plus gives passers-by a glimpse into the inner workings of Switzerland's first industrial malthouse, while at the same time providing optimum thermal insulation with high light transmission.
