A stack of glass

| Glas Trösch | Reference

For the office building of the biotech company Actelion in Allschwil, the renowned Basel-based architects Herzog & de Meuron relied on stacking glass beams. This created 350 workplaces in close proximity to the glass façade, allowing for optimal use of daylight.

In addition to unusual views and vistas, the arrangement of the beam-shaped building sections creates recreational areas of various sizes in the form of courtyards and terraces. No two floors are alike.

The façade made of SILVERSTAR COMBI Neutral 70/35 optimally regulates energy transmission in warm months and prevents excessive heat loss in winter, thus helping to reduce air conditioning as well as heating costs. This also helps containing the CO₂ emissions of the building.

  • Building Type Cultural and Convention Building
  • Application Façade
  • Product SILVERSTAR COMBI (Low-E with solar control)
  • Location Allschwil, Switzerland
