A liaison of iron, wood and glass

| Glas Trösch | Reference

When converting its production hall in the Black Forest, the Dhonau Iron Foundry opted for wood as the main component of the roof support structure in combination with large glass surfaces.

With the aim of being spacious, airy and as bright as possible, the halls were designed, and their simple geometry made it possible to use large-format mono-pitch roofs. The external glazing, where our trusted insulating glass came into play, was made in larger formats (approx. 90 x 480 cm\), partly as model panes and installed as a wood-aluminum system on glulam frames. At the express wish of the client, it was produced without coating and without glass filling.
