A habitable sculpture with a special view

| Glas Trösch | Reference

Fence, gable roof, garden landscape - one looks in vain for conventions of a single-family house in the design by Gautschi Lenzin Schenker in Aarau. On the contrary, the Swiss architectural firm turns expectations on their head and creates a sculptural living space.

In doing so, it uses the expanse of the site as an exhibition space. Bordering agricultural zones on three sides, the building dispenses with garden walls, plantings and other enclosures. This creates an imposing overall composition that, despite the cubist dominance of the appearance, achieves a certain unobtrusiveness through the dark wood of the facade.

The XXL window glass contributes to this look - our triple insulating glass SILVERSTAR EN2plus was used for this. A clever glass solution which, thanks to its coating with a low heat transfer coefficient, ensures pleasantly tempered interiors and guarantees a high degree of light transmission.
