Wellbeing in confined spaces

| OKALUX | Reference

The University of California Irvine Medical Center Hospital is a testament to how innovation and thoughtful design can thrive in a confined space.

Built on a compact 33-acre campus, the seven-storey building skillfully combines healthcare and research. At the heart of the building's design is OKATECH insulated glass with copper expanded metal integrated into the entrance façade. This solution optimises daylight, provides solar control and enhances privacy, while giving the building a striking look. The copper inlays create a shimmering effect that emphasises the balance between functionality and elegance - an architectural approach that supports both healing and aesthetics.
