We are a new exhibition partner in the Umwelt Arena

| Glas Trösch | Sustainability

The Umwelt Arena in Spreitenbach has firmly established itself as an excursion destination and place of learning about energy, the environment and sustainable mobility.

Now an exhibition on the topic of architectural glass enriches the information on offer in the area of "Building and Modernising": At our new stand, visitors can learn how different windows and glazing can be sensibly integrated into buildings.

As part of our "Green for Generations" initiative, we have set ourselves the goal of reducing the waste caused by one-time use of materials to an absolute minimum. This is why we also rely on the Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C) design philosophy for trade fairs and exhibitions. The aim is to use recyclable materials in order to reduce waste. For the stand in the Umwelt Arena, for example, we were able to reuse constructive elements from the last Swissbau stand, which can be dismantled and therefore also used at other locations. And for all other necessary elements, we opted - wherever possible - for C2C-certified and healthy materials.

In addition to the presentation of sample glass such as the SWISSPANEL SOLAR, visitors can also interactively try out a switchable solar control glass or find out about bird protection glass. In short explanatory films, topics such as laminated safety glass or summer heat protection are explained in an entertaining way. Clear graphics on environmentally friendly production round off the information on offer. Anyone who wants to find out how much energy and money can be saved by replacing old insulating glass windows can use the energy simulator available at the exhibition stand. Specially developed by us, the software calculates an estimate of the annual energy costs for heating, cooling and lighting for different windows. In addition, CO2 emissions, comfort and daylight utilisation are also compared. The energy simulator thus illustrates the advantages of a window renovation in terms of energy consumption and comfort, as well as the importance of individual planning for summer heat protection.
