Renovating instead of demolishing

| Glas Trösch | Reference

The revitalisation of the Minoteries housing complex in Geneva shows how energetic refurbishment can preserve urban identity and significantly reduce emissions. Originally built in the 1970s, the buildings were comprehensively modernised by Itten+Brechbühl.

To meet modern energy standards, a key element was the thermal optimisation of the façade. Insulating glass units featuring our SILVERSTAR EN2plus coating were used to improve thermal insulation while allowing high daylight transmission. The solution contributes to lowering energy consumption and plays a central role in the building’s Minergie and HPE certification.
