New harbour growth

| Glas Trösch | Reference

ROOTS is redefining sustainable urban living in Hamburg’s Hafen City. This 18-story hybrid high-rise integrates residential spaces, exhibition areas and the headquarters of the German Wildlife Foundation under one wooden roof.

Its innovative construction combines reinforced concrete for the lower floors with solid timber ceilings and walls in the upper levels – using 5,500 m³ of coniferous wood. This approach reduces CO₂ emissions, limits construction noise and promotes a healthy indoor climate.

The perfect match for ROOTS? SILVERSTAR COMBI. This advanced glass solution ensures excellent solar control and thermal insulation, enhancing energy efficiency and indoor comfort with optimal light transmission and reduced glare.
