The New Student Union building at Nevada’s CSN campuses radiates with glare-free natural light. OKALUX light-diffusing glass was designed into the clerestory windows by TSK Architects. Daylit interiors provide students with an increased sense of physical and mental comfort. The proven improvement in student performance within naturally daylit spaces was an additional benefit. “One of our goals for this project was to create bright and vibrant spaces that students want to be in, spaces that felt active and exciting. We chose OKALUX for the clerestory of the main commons space and continued it down the main corridor of the building. The light penetrating and diffusing properties of OKALUX coupled with a few bold paint color choices helped us realize this goal, creating spaces the students of CSN want to and like to use.” Jeni Panars, Associate Principal, TSK Architects.
