Illuminated hill

| OKALUX | Reference

Located in Nicosia, the Stelios Ioannou Learning Resource Center is an architectural marvel designed by Atelier Jean Nouvel: The unique building, which resembles an artificial hill with a membrane covering its slopes and a white cupola at its peak, serves as a hub for research and innovation. It's a space open to both students and the wider scientific community in Cyprus.

The structure, rising vertically across five levels and organized around a central cylinder with three peripheral wings, offers state-of-the-art facilities including reading rooms, book stacks, and group study spaces.

OKALUX K plays a vital role in achieving the building's daylighting goals. Widely installed in the cupola, the capillary plate between the panes ensures uniform, shadow-free illumination. Alongside excellent solar control and glare protection, these capillary tubes enhance thermal insulation, with transmission values customizable to specific requirements.
