A new community centre was built in a central location in Spreitenbach, which cleverly blends into the existing urban structure.

The local architectural firm fsp Architekten positioned the municipal administration at the interface between the rural and urban parts of Spreitenbach: close to a shopping centre and adjacent to an open space, they created a functional meeting point for the population that also serves as a meeting place for social contacts.

The four-storey building was constructed to the Minergie standard and architecturally favours openness and transparency. The generous use of glass in the façade emphasises this character and gives it a modern aesthetic. The façade glazing consists of triple insulating glass: this includes SWISSLAMEX laminated safety glass, which offers the safety properties required for public buildings. Additionally, the artistically designed panes on the ground floor show that this glass product can also be processed into designer glass.

Part of this local glass solution is SILVERSTAR EN2plus - a coating that is ideal for windows and façades in commercial and residential buildings such as this one thanks to its outstanding thermal insulation and high light transmission.

  • Building Type Office and Administration Building
