Color-matched sustainability

| Glas Trösch | Reference

The multi-family house in Cham, Switzerland, built in 1974, has undergone a comprehensive renovation. In addition to energy-efficient upgrades, the owner opted for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV).

On the south- and east-facing façades, color-matched photovoltaic modules have replaced the original clinker façade. Since the building is located in a heritage protection zone, particular attention was given to maintaining a consistent color scheme.

To assure this, SWISSPANEL SOLAR was used – a specially refined glass with ceramic colors. This technology enables a integration of solar modules into the building’s architecture that modules achieve 75% efficiency compared to standard black solar panels and generate over 10,500 kWh of electricity per year.

The PV modules were manufactured by 3S Swiss Solar Systems AG, a specialist in building-integrated solar systems.
