Renovating instead of demolishing The revitalisation of the Minoteries housing complex in Geneva shows how energetic refurbishment can preserve urban identity and significantly reduce emissions. Originally built in the 1970s, the buildings were comprehensively modernised by Itten+Brechbühl AG and completed in 2021. To meet modern energy standards, a key element was the thermal optimisation of the façade. Triple insulating glass units featuring our #SILVERSTAREN2plus coating were used to improve thermal insulation while allowing high daylight transmission. The solution contributes to lowering energy consumption and plays a central role in the building’s Minergie and HPE certification. © Fernando Guerra, Lisbon / Itten+Brechbühl SA #glastroesch #glastroeschgroup #GreenforGenerations #architecturalglass #energyefficientdesign #buildingrenovation #sustainablearchitecture #tripleglazing #glassfaçade

Community at heart What makes the Face2Face Business Campus stand out is not just its architecture, but the space in between: a generous public courtyard that fosters interaction and brings new energy to the northern part of Katowice. Open to both tenants and the local community, it adds real value to the urban environment. Designed by Grupa 5 Architekci, the campus unites two volumes – one 14 storeys, the other seven – into a cohesive ensemble offering more than 45,000 m² of leasable space. EUROGLAS supplied #SILVERSTARCOMBINeutral 70/35 T for the façades. This high-performance glass combines natural daylight with reliable solar control, delivering a neutral aesthetic with high transparency. With a light transmission of approx. 70% and a solar factor of 35%, it supports both user comfort and energy efficiency. © Rafał Siderski #glastroesch #glastroeschgroup #GreenforGenerations #architecturalglass #urbanarchitecture #glassfacade #daylightdesign #sustainableoffices #facadeperformance

Knowledge at display Transparency and clear insights are key characteristics of modern educational environments. In this spirit, we are pleased to have contributed to the new Kantonschule Limmattal by supplying display case glazing in collaboration with our long-standing partner SYMA-SYSTEM AG The showcases offer the ideal presentation space for a wide variety of school-related exhibits — from trophies to biology specimens. For this project, we used two robust safety glass products: #SWISSDUREX, known for its high impact and bending strength as well as excellent thermal resistance, and #SWISSLAMEX, a high-strength laminated safety glass offering a maximum of active safety. The laminated glass consists of two or more panes bonded with tough, tear-resistant interlayers. Together, both glass types ensure a secure and functional environment for high-traffic, public-facing areas such as educational institutions. © SYMA-SYSTEM AG #glastroesch #glastroeschgroup #GreenforGenerations #architecturalglass #safetyglass #educationarchitecture #schooldesign #glassapplications #clarity #partnership

Character through contrast The Havana residential tower in Almere doesn’t just offer 70 meters of height and panoramic views – it defines its surroundings with a distinct architectural rhythm. The horizontal bronze-toned bands and champagne-colored panels give the façade depth and structure, while the slanted windows create ever-changing reflections of light and sky. Designed by KLUNDER ARCHITECTEN and realized with Blitta Gevelsystemen bv, the charismatic façade enhances energy efficiency and sound insulation, key factors in high-density urban living. The glazing plays a central role in this balance: Scheuten Glas supplied #SILVERSTARCOMBINeutral 61/32, a glass solution that lets in ample daylight while managing heat and glare, ensuring a comfortable indoor climate without compromising on the openness of the design. © Studio de Nooyer #glastroesch #glastroeschgroup #GreenforGenerations #architecturalglass #facadedesign #urbanarchitecture #energyefficientdesign #residentialtower #modernliving #almere

Cubistic head office For over 30 years, ROSA has been illuminating Poland and over 70 countries around the world as a leading company in outdoor lighting solutions. As their headquarters, they chose a building with radiance. Large glass façades not only enhance the visual lightness of the structure but also maximize daylight intake, creating an open and inviting workspace. The integration of transparency and structural elements seem to be a hint to the company's commitment to precision and quality. For the façade glazing, Euroglas supplied #SILVERSTARCOMBINeutral 70/35 T. Color-matched sustainability The multi-family house in Cham, Switzerland, built in 1974, has undergone a comprehensive renovation. In addition to energy-efficient upgrades, the owner opted for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). On the south- and east-facing façades, color-matched photovoltaic modules have replaced the original clinker façade. Since the building is located in a heritage protection zone, particular attention was given to maintaining a consistent color scheme. To assure this, #SWISSPANELSOLAR was used – a specially refined glass with ceramic colors. This technology enables a integration of solar modules into the building’s architecture that modules achieve 75% efficiency compared to standard black solar panels and generate over 10,500 kWh of electricity per year. The PV modules were manufactured by 3S Swiss Solar Solutions AG a specialist in building-integrated solar systems. © 3S Swiss Solar Solutions AG #glastroesch #glastroeschgroup #GreenforGenerations #architecturalglass #buildingintegratedphotovoltaics #solararchitecture #facadedesign #sustainability #energyefficiency

Vibrant density The Glasi-Quartier in Bülach, located just north of Zurich, is a prime example of modern urban development. Built on the site of a former glassworks, this new city district combines approximately 600 residential units with spaces for commerce, gastronomy, and community. Designed by the planning consortium Duplex Architekten / Itten+Brechbühl AG, the quarter offers a high density of living spaces within just four hectares, blending urban vibrancy with sustainable design. Key to the project was ensuring safety and functionality without compromising aesthetics. To meet these demands, fire protection glass #FIRESWISSFOAM was installed at crucial passages. This innovative glass not only shields against fire and smoke but also protects against radiant heat. Its specialized heat-shield technology facilitates safe evacuation in case of an emergency. The implementation was expertly handled by Hammer Metall AG in collaboration with Forster Profilsysteme GmbH. © Hammer Metall AG #glastroesch #glastroeschgroup #GreenforGenerations #fireprotectionglass #urbanarchitecture #swissdesign #sustainablebuildings #modernliving #archilovers #fireprotection
